Monday I started a dairy-free diet to see if that is what is causing all of the crying. It'll take a few weeks to see any changes if that is it. It is so difficult to find things that don't contain milk! I've had a hard time thinking of meals because we eat a LOT of cheese in this house. There are so many foods that I miss but if it helps Owen feel better I'll deal with it. Tuesday he did really well and then Wednesday was terrible. I had made some brownies on Tuesday so chocolate may not agree with him. Bad for me but good for my figure!
We had a morning full of tears today. We're working on getting Owen to take a bottle so he doesn't starve while I'm at work and it was awful. He cried for so long which made me cry. Nursing him is what calms him down most of the time so I felt like I was abandoning him when he needed me. I finally just took a shower while Pat worked at it so I couldn't hear him anymore. He eventually took it but it'll take some more effort so he doesn't scream for an hour first. His poor belly was making all kinds of noise from all the air he was swallowing. I'm starting to feel guilty for going back to work and leaving him but I hope it gets better. I think he wore himself out because he's been sleeping in the swing for almost 2 hours.
He always tucks his thumbs in when his hands are in a fist.
He tries to suck his thumb which is difficult due to the above mentioned tendency.
He's been sleeping great at night lately. He'll go down between 8-9 and usually sleep for 3-5 hours then I'm up with him for about 15-20 minutes and then he sleeps another 3ish hours and I'm up another 15-20 minutes then he sleeps for another hour or so and it's time to get up. He lets me know it's time to stay awake by doing lots and lots of stretching and grunting. He'll start to get mad if I don't turn the lights. He's usually pretty happy in the morning although it's kind of been hit or miss lately. He starts to get tired about an hour or so after we get up but we haven't figured out a morning nap routine yet.
He's liking his swing a lot more lately and has taken a few afternoon naps in it this week. It's been nice to have that time to get some things done.
He's taken a liking to swaddling again but we just do that at night.
He's had a stuffy nose for a weeks now and then over the weekend his left eye started getting gunky. The nurse at the pediatricians office sometimes they can get a cold in their eye and that's probably what it is. He has his 2 month check up on Wednesday so I have my list of questions ready! He'll get his shots that day as well which I am really not looking forward to.
His stats this week were:
11lbs 3oz, 22 inches long
He's doubled his going home weight which was 5lb 9oz!
Sleeping on one of our many walks.
My little hoodlum
I'm getting so tall!
