Micah's on the move

(2/17/15) This happened right before Pat and I left for New Jersey so I was thrilled! I was so worried that it wouldn't happen before we left for 4 days but he did just in time!

Micah - 9/10 Months

H: 28 1/2 inches (50%)
W: 20lb 9oz (45%)
HC: 45cm/17 3/4 in (50%)

Poor Micah has been dealing with another double ear infection for the last month or so. He's on his second round of antibiotics (trying a different kind) and we'll go back in 2 weeks to see if it's cleared up. I had taken him in for his 9 month check up and was surprised that he had another ear infection. He hadn't seemed sick so I wasn't expecting it. He had a recheck last week (since that was his 2nd one this winter) and it still wasn't cleared up. If this new antibiotic doesn't work we might have to talk about tubes. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that though.

Micah is sleeping better which I'm thankful for. I finally got so tired that I needed to do something or I was going to break. Our family life was rough because I was crabby and impatient. I decided I needed to let him cry instead of nursing him every time he started to fuss. We had one night of 2 hours worth of crying where I would pick him up and calm him down periodically and since then he's dropped the wake up that was happening around 11:00-midnight and now wakes up for the first time between 2:00-4:00 which is great. He still wakes up around 6:00 which is earlier than I'd like but we'll learn to live with it. He did sleep until after 7:00 the other morning but Owen woke up at 6:00 that day so that was a bummer. This all started before finding out about the ear infections so I felt a little guilty for letting him cry when he was sick but since it was only 1 night I'm not going to dwell on it.

Micah has 6 teeth now; 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. Eating is going pretty well. He loves banana pieces and cheerios. He seems to eat the most at dinner time but can get really crabby during meal times. I'm not sure why. We've been practicing with a sippy cup and he's getting better at it. He prefers his brothers cup over the soft spout ones I started Owen on.

Crawling is so close! He goes from sitting to one knee but when he tries to get the other one out he just flattens out on his belly and cries. If I tuck his knees under him he's able to get back to sitting on his own. He can scoot backwards on his belly which makes him more mad because he just gets further away from whatever he's trying to get. He tries to pull up on stuff but only gets his butt off the floor (occasionally to his knees). I'm way more nervous about choking with Micah than I was with Owen. I'm always getting after Owen to make sure he doesn't drop any fruit snacks or cereal on the floor.
