We bought our first house yesterday and it is fabulous. It is kind of boring right now since we have no tv, no internet and no books right now. Pat drove back to Chicago this morning with a truck and trailer to get the rest of our stuff. I had to stay here to wait for the electric man that never showed up so now I'm sitting at a McDonald's using the internet. We didn't plan very well what we would need right away so we have some of the most random things here right now. We brought the tv, dvd player, etc., but not the power cord to the tv. We brought a shelf that I could've put together today but the screws are still in Chicago. We did make sure to bring a piggy bank though! This morning I unpacked some glasses and then sat in a lawn chair in my living room. I'm looking very white trash right now. Tomorrow we are getting Pat's grandmothers couch and some other things. This couch is going to need a cover asap as the pink and navy floral pattern doesn't really fit in my color scheme. We are very grateful for a free couch though!
Last week was exhausting as we had to move from our wonderful apartment to a guest apartment next door that is half the size. I felt like we should be on an episode of Hoarders or Clean House. The sleeping there is rough as the mattress is awful. Last night I finally got a good nights sleep on an air mattress. I'm trying to not complain as we have been so blessed.
